I fell asleep listening to the basketball game last night. It lulled me to sleep like a mother’s song. As soon as Brad turned it off though I slept horribly. The covers on these beds are SO thick and heavy that you have to crank the AC just to keep from sweating your ass off but it then makes me all stuffed up. I then woke up first around 6AM and struggled to go back to sleep until 8 or so. I finally decided to just get up and catch up on some e-mail and then head out. I walked around the area near our hotel and picked up a calling card finally and some more film for the trip. I found a little corner store and got some pastries and OJ and ate it on a bench by the Marble Arch. It was a little chilly but very nice.
While I was sitting and eating a van pulled up and and guy got out and opened up the back and brought out a Falcon. I guess this guy goes around to parks and public places with his falcon to chase off the pigeons and other birds. It was pretty awesome to see. The other birds immediately took of as soon as the falcon came out.
After Breakfast we had a photo shoot for Kerrang! magazine in a park. I think it was called Hampstead Heath. It was very easy and painless. the photographer was very easy to work with and we got through it pretty quickly.
After son lunch we had a quick video interview and then a phoner at the hotel before Andy had to head to load in for his Right Away, Great Captain! show. I was incredibly tired and not feeling to well so I stayed at the hotel to grab a nap and just met up with everyone at the show.
The venue was pretty awesome. It was in an upstairs room above a bar and only fit about 100 people. Andy played an amazing set consisting of the entire The Eventually Home album plus a few extras.
I am back at the hotel now listening to some music with Brad about to go to bed. We have meetings with the label all day tomorrow and then the show tomorrow night so it will be a long day. Hopefully I can get some decent sleep.

We arrived in London early this morning. Our manager Brad arrived right around the same time and we actually all ended up at customs at the same time. We had a bit of a hold up for a while as they uad to double check our work permits due to some changes to their rules. We were sorted and going after 10 minutes or so but brad got stuck for a few ours along with a guy from Pakistan claiming asylum.
We finally left for the hotel without him so we could get some sleep. I think he ended up being there a few hours.
They were actual filming for a reality tv show about the customs department or something and wanted to film him for the show. Luckily he said no.
We got a few hours of sleep and then Brad and I walked around and found a Lebanese place to get some food before hanging around at the hotel trying to get the internet and email to work. We are staying at the Cumberland which is way better than most of the other places we have stayed.
We had dinner with Mike and Bex who are our booking agents here. They took us to a place called The Sea Shell for fish and chips. Bex and Brad then took us to the Barfly to catch the Silversun Pickups’ show which was fun.
Brad and I are currently trying to figure out how to watch the NCAA Basketball championship game. It isnt looking so good right now.
We have a photo shoot for kerang tomorrow morning so I should probably just get some sleep if we cant watch the game.

We are currently in the air somewhere over Ireland. We have just under an hour left in our flight. I watched Four Christmases or Four Holidays or something like that. It had Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn in it. Reese remind me of my wife. Vince has become a bit of a one trick pony like John Cusack. Both just ramble on and on in every movie but I always love it.
I also watched Nick and Norah’s infinate playlist. It wasn’t anything amazing but I enjoyed it. I think they cast Nick and Norah perfectly. I definately left with a little crush on Norah. Strangely enough my wife has a crush on Michael Cera or however you spell his name.
As soon as I finished watching Nick and Norah’s the Office came on and it was an episode about Toby which made me laugh out loud. Our Toby(gabe) is SO much like Toby it is rediculous.
I am now listening to a Jay-Z/Ghostface mix called American Ironman. Pretty good so far. My ears are now popping nonstop which mean it is about time to land. Gotta get ready. More soon.

Our flight doesn’t leave until 7pm so we got a day room at the hotel so we have somewhere to hang out today. We grabbed some lunch at the hotel restaurant and then Toby left to drive our van and trailer back to Atlanta. We are all just hanging out in the hotel room now loading up our computers/ipods/iphones with stuff to listen to and watch during the flight. You never know what the in flight entertainment is going to be like so it is best to make sure you have something as a back up. I got a package from Invisible Children this past week with all of their DVD’s so I will probably watch some of those. I also picked up a few books at Borders for the flight. Get In The Van is one of them and I am already about halfway through that. I also picked up a book by the drummer of Semisonic called So You Wanna Be A Rock and Roll Star. It looks like a quick and interesting read.
I have been trying to download some Black Flag albums to listen to while reading Get In The Van but the internet keeps being too slow. I think I finally am about to have Damaged downloaded at least. That and the Minor Threat Discography should be good reading music.
Reading this book has made me want to go buy Our Band Could Be Your Life again. I think both should be required reading for any touring band.
I also think they should sell it with a playlist to listen to while reading. I suppose I will just have to make my own if I ever get a decent internet connection.

We played at boston university tonight. It was in a small room with just a small 1 foot riser for a stage but it turned out being pretty cool. The sound was pretty good on stage and sometimes it is just nice to be so close and face to face with the crowd like when we first started playing. There were only a couple hundred people there because it was supposed to be only BU students so it was a nice intimate show.
We played pretty well. Still getting into the groove of playing these songs live.
It will be nice once fans know these songs.
A band called Via Audio played before us and were cool. Two of them are actually going to be playing with FUN on our upcoming tour together.
We are back at the hotel mow hanging out. Chris and Toby just had a punching match. Toby was formerly known as Gabe but we
Realized he reminds us of Toby from the Office. Their match got interupted by our chinese delivery which turned out to be very mediocre.
I caught the tail end of a special on Annie Leibovitz which was pretty cool. It made we want to start taking more photos again.I have been very slack about it the past few months. I plan on forcing myseld to shoot more this week while in the London. I need to remember to pick up more film.
Starting toget a headache which means it is time for bed. So glad we don’t fly out until late afternoon.

Yesterday Robert, Jonathan and I left Atlanta with the van and trailer to head to Quinnipiac,CT. Andy and Chris stayed and caught a flight this morning to make it a little easier on Andy since he is still healing from having his appendix taken out. The drive was pretty painless so we decided to drive through the night instead of stopping halfway. Robert downloaded the Sookie Stackhouse book on tape series so we all just listened to that most of the drive. Rober and I are already big fans of True Blood so it was interesting seeing the differences between the book and show.
We finally made it to Quinnipiac around 7am after getting pulled over less than 30 minutes away because we were apparently on a road that didnt allow trailers. This forced us to take an alternate route which added an hour to
The drive and stuck us right in morning traffic. Lame.
We slept until load in and then set up our gear and hung around waiting for Andy and Chris. Our TM for these two dates is Gabe and he picked them up at the airport and brought them to the show. Their flight had been delayed so they didnt make it to the show until just before doors.
College shows are always a little weird but this one went pretty smoothly. The dressing room was a nice lounge with lots of couches and they filled all of our rider which was much better than our last college show where we had to use the locker room.
The show was decent. Nothing too special. We played Where Have You Been for the first time in a while but Chris didnt play the keys which was a little weird not having the giant choir sound. Andy encored with Dont Speak by No Doubt which we all ended up joining him for. It probably sounded awful but we had fun.
Tomorrow we play at a school in Boston. Boston College I believe.I am just hoping for some decent internet access so I can get some work done before we leave the country.
Time for bed.

We didn’t arrive in SLC until almost noon. Luckily I had been able to get some decent sleep in the van so I spent the day catching up on e-mails and phone calls and trying to finish the new photo blog page.
I was a little bummed at first when I realized we were playing the smaller room at the venue because it meant we had to share drum kits but it actually ended up being a really fun show. Somehow we have a pretty great fan base in SLC and they were an awesome crowd. Thank you SLC!
We stayed the night in town and woke up early yesterday morning to drive. I slept the first few hours and then woke up and watched the Sigur Ros DVD with Tim. It was incredibly well done and really inspiring. That band blows my mind.
The denver show was pretty cool. I liked the venue other than the dressing room being colder than it was outside. It was absolutely freezing!
We decided to take of after the show and drive through the night to save on hotel costs. I took the first shift riding shotgun while Joe drove. We listened to some Jay-Z, Saves The Day, Get Up Kids, and some further seems forever. I gave him a crash course of Wilco records. He had somehow missed out on Wilco all of this time. He then introduced me to Mew which I really liked. I decided to get some french vanilla cappuccino to help me stay awake. I don’t ever drink coffee because I have always hated the taste but this wasn’t too bad. I did burn my tongue though which is really annoying. We finally traded shifts a little after 5 AM and I got some sleep. I kept getting woken up but some asian women who had the wrong number and WOULD NOT stop calling.
We just checked into our hotel in KC and are hanging out here for a few hours until we have to load in to the venue. Last time we played here the club has a mechanical bull. I am hoping it is still there and we can ride it tonight.
