Brisbane>Sydney>LA>HOME!

The Brisbane Laneway Festival was small but good. Looking back now I am realizing that I somehow didn’t take any pictures. Out set went alright but had some random tech issues with monitors and gear. It was incredibly hot on stage and they didn’t have any towels. Caught Okerville River, Feist, The Cool Kids and Still Flyin. The after party was really lame. Had a drink or two with the Okkervil guys and then went back to the hotel because we had an early flight the next morning.

The fight to Sydney was really early. Luckily I got pretty good at sleeping on the flights. We saw Santana at the airport. Got asked for our auograph by some guy. I think he was just hanging out looking for people who had gear and was asking them ask if he knew who they were. It looked like he was looking at picures of us on his phone with his friend and figuring out who was who. It was really weird.

Our set in Sydney was amazing. The crowd was packed and seemed really into it. It was a great way to end the trip. I felt like it was our best set of the tour.

we stuck around the rest of the day hanging out and catching a few shows. Ended up on stage with Still Flyin and a million other people for their last song. Got to watch Broken Social Scene from side stage. Got to watch CYHSY side stage. They played an amazing set. My favorite of the tour by far.

We decided to ditch the after party and went with Okkervil River to a karaoke bar. It was probably the highlight of the trip for me. Highlights of the night: J & Robert singing Rock Lobster, Andy & I singing Danger Zone, Chris and Patrick singing EVERYTHING.

The next morning Chris and I did a quick interview with Channel V tv which is supposed to be like MTV. The woman called Andy Allen, Called Chris Jeremiah, and called me Chris. She also spoke very loudly all of a sudden when the camera was on and didn’t pick up on our names even when we would answer her question by referring to each other by name and pointing. It should turn out pretty great.

We flew home on Quantas which meant tons of movies to watch. This time I watched American Gangster, some Italian movie, and……I can’t remember what else. That is the problem with watching so many movies at once. I can’t remember any of it. I got some decent sleep. Lost my passport in LA. Found it. Had to pay a ton of money for all our extra bags. The Delta flight home sucked. Rough flight. No food. No movies. Lousy headrest. I have never been happier to be home. The trip was amazing but I could not have gone another day. You would think that it would get easier every time but now that I’m married it seems harder and harder every time.

I am incredibly tired now and it is only 7:30. My body still hasn’t gotten used to the time change. Hopefully I will get some decent sleep tonight. The last two nights were awful.

I am working hard to sort through all the picture from the last 3 trips and post them to my photo blog. It should be up by the time we leave for the next tour in a week.

Glad you are home. Not as much as you are though. Try to stay sane and well:) We are third person down with the influenza B here:) and the Prelichs are staying with us indefinitely. When are you out of town in April? We might try to come for a visit during the kids spring break but it would be great to do it when you are home if possible. Love to you! Erika
