I still had not been able to see the beach there during the day so I made it a point to wake up a little early the next morning and walk around. I walked down to the old pier that burned down and then walked up the beach to the new pier and made my way to the end and checked out the rides and different booths.
I really was craving a hot dog but all of the vendor were not serving until noon, which was when I had to be back for van call. I ended up having to settle for burger king near the hotel. We made the drive to London and stopped by Sensible Music to drop off all of the gear we were renting. Anathallo had one last show set up right down the street from there so they came along and we said our goodbyes there. We were cutting it a little close on time getting to our first flight because part of the luggage system was down or something which delayed everything. On top of that we sat on the plane for a good while before taking off because an engine was having problems starting and once they fixed it they had to wait forever to the paperwork to be processed.Other than that the flight was amazing. We were flying Quantas for the first time and were stoked to find out they have tons of movies, tv, and cd’s on demand. I spent the first little while on the ground watching House. I have heard great things about that show but it just didn’t do much for me. After we took off I watched The Bourne Ultimatum which was great. Not as good as the first but still very good. I then took a chance on a French film called Hunting and Gathering because Audrey Tatau was in it. The description sounded lame but I will watch anything she is in. It actually ended up being alright. Nothing spectacular but enjoyable. After that it was time for some much needed sleep.I somehow managed to sleep well and not get up a single time during the flight which I’m sure is not good for me. Singapore was weird. We had just enough time to get a quick bite to eat. More americanized Burger King was a nice change from the bland version they have in the UK.I tried watching The Assassination of Jesse James but couldn’t stay awake for the whole thing. I had to fast forward through the last quarter of the movie. It was a great movie. An absolutely beautiful movie. The cinematography was unreal. It was also a very slow and quiet movie though, which doesn’t make it easy to watch on a plane.Due to the original delay in London we missed our connection from Melbourne to Adelaide. The Melbourne airport was insane and set up terribly. We stood in line for the quarantine check forever. Once we finally got through the line and set up for the next available flight it was almost time to board so we had to be rushed through check in and got to the gate just in time for boarding.
The flight was quick and easy and finally we landed in Adelaide around noon. I think it ended up being 35 or 36 hours of travel time. Our hotel here is awesome. We don’t have any shows for a couple of days so we feel like we are on vacation. I think we will probably hit the beach tomorrow or maybe a zoo. For the first time ever I think we are going to take advantage of the fact that we are in an amazing place we wouldn’t usually get to go.
we had 3:10 to Yuma on our flight.
that, and hairspray.
miss you, roomie!
