Houston>Austin>Edmond

I finally went to sleep around 5AM tuesday morning after a much needed day off if New Orleans with the Say Anything crew and woke up in Houston,TX outside of Warehouse Live. The crew was just starting to wake up and get ready for load in and most of everyone else was still sleeping. I had slept in the back lounge and didn’t want to sleep in too much incase someone wanted to use the lounge so I went ahead and woke up and heading inside. Warehouse Live has a pretty comfortable dressing room area and pretty decent internet so Alex and I set up office and got a lot of work done that we had been putting off while in new orleans. Joe and chris eventually showed up but left the redt of the band at the hotel to sleep in and hang out since they all drove all the way from Florida. They actually didn’t show up until about an hour before we had to be on stage. The crowd was smaller than we expected but was still good. I was having issues with my kit. I had to borrow a kick pedal that started falling apart and then I broke 2 of my cymbals. I have to play the next 3 shows with broken cymbals which I am not looking forward to.
We got a hotel in town and alex stayed with us. Somehow the night evolved into robert getting paid $40 to let Tim slap him in the face as hard as he could. J taped the whole thing of course and we watched it in slow motion afterwards. A good ending to the night.
I took the first half of the drive to austin the next morning. We made a quick stop at Sonic for some lunch. There are sonic’s everywhere in texas. Robert thinks they are making a comeback thanks to their good commercials and I think I have to agree.
We chilled to some reggae for a bit but the reggae and rainy weather were putting me to sleep so we put on the weatherbox record and rocked out to that for a while. I hadn’t had a chance to listen to the cd before then but I loved it.
Unfortunately we didn’t play at stubb’s on the trip to austin. We were instead at La Zona Rosa which I had never been to. It was a decent venue but we had 3 bands sharing one very small dressing room and the whole backstage smelled like sewage.the show was decent but I just wasn’t in it all the way. I was too in my head thinking about the broken cymbals and trying not to break them more. We had a nice jam at the end of where have you been. We have been extending it each night and just feeling it out changing it up a bit each night.
Some of the guys went on the bus again last night which meant a bed to myself which was great but I found that even when I have a bed to myself I sleep all the way to one side because I am so used to sharing a bed.
We are now on our way to Edmond,Ok. I have never been there and have no idea where it even is. I am just hoping for a large dressing room with fast internet.
